~Eat Em Up~
Growing up one of my favorite meals was Elk Finger Steak night. My Mom isn’t sure where this recipe originated from and that’s fine by me. As far as I’m concerned, she was crowned Queen of the Elk Finger Stakes when I was little and that’s where she’ll reign forever. I asked her to share the delicious and she handed over the recipe I have no doubt everyone will enjoy ~
Elk Finger Steaks
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp. garlic salt or powder (heaping)
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chicken or beef base (heaping)
4 eggs
1 tsp. salt
Flour
Mix 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup cold water.
Add 1 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper, 1/2 tsp. garlic salt or powder and 2 tsp. chicken or beef base.
Beat together and add flour (1 1/2 cups to 2 cups) to consistency of gravy.
Beat 4 eggs and mix all together.
Dip steak fingers in the batter then cook in hot oil or deep fryer until finger steaks are floating and brown. (Takes about 3 minutes or so per elk finger steak)
Enjoy!
