Good story I myself live in Lakeview,Or & know what you mean about exploring new water allway’s finding new places to go is part of the fun of flyfishing.The storie about fly shop is well some wat true not all shops are there to sell you everything in stock but some will you just have to walk away when they start that & go your merry way respect them for what & who they are no more on less.

Sounds like you had a great time. Many times, angling is not about the fish.

If you like Central Oregon with its “new lake or river to visit everywhere you look,” you really need to come to Minnesota. I like to say that you can’t spit without hitting a place to fish around here.

And I loved your analogy of new water being like a first date. Lately, my new waters have been a lot like dating as a hormonal teenager. A lot of attempts (casts), but no scores.

Bend is on my list of places I’m going to live someday. Oh, wait- I already said that in my comment on your previous entry. Indeed, central Oregon is like an full host bar for fishaholics. I think a beat up old van and a summer with no obligations/bills is just the ticket needed for covering all the water down there…

I’m glad it worked again Rob ~ In my quest to ward off spammers I keep messing with the comment permissions. I don’t want to block true people, but I also don’t want to deal with spammers. It’s good your computer didn’t view me as an “adult material” site again!
I’d like to settle in with a nice PG-13 rating ~
I should have researched things a bit more before I went, but, well, I didn’t…I guess I learn the hard way =)

Hmmm…Nice! I get to leave a comment without Websense telling me that your page is verboten because of “Adult Materials”….

You might want to check out Bing Maps to pre-scout spots before you go. I do that when I’m headed out to a new spot and even though it’s not going to show every nook and cranny, the “birds eye” view is sweet and can get me as close as 25 feet in most spots.
