As a dad myself, I'm glad to have introduced my son to hunting and fly fishing. He doesn't always get to go with me, nor does he always want to (he's almost 16, and accordingly distracted by other things). But his first season huntng he shot a turkey in the spring, and a deer and his first pheasant the next fall. The seed has been planted, and we will always have something in common to do together- something my own dad and I don't have, unfortunately. Thanks for another great read!

Cool story! It was my uncles that turned me to hunting and fishing. But just the same I'm glad they included me in their adventures in the outdoors.

Great article. My dad was my first mentor and I'm so grateful for it all. If it wasn't for him I'm not sure what my hobbies would be these days. Your dad sounds like a great guy.
Found your site from Twitter and I'm glad I did!
